I would be aware that JHU doesn't guarantee admission for athletes except maybe lacrosse.

A Williams coach can pretty much guarantee an applicant ill get in.

Is he into white girls or dates interracially?

Williams has better looking kids on campus on a percentage basis.

Nescac peer schools better for dating/relationships. A lot of double Nescac couples.

Hopkins you are limited to the other athletes or have to link up with Towson girls

Huge difference for an athlete Econ major. iYKYK.

I get it. Some schools being an athlete leads to much better career outcomes than others, especially for finance, econ etc. Williams is one of them.

My kid talked to them but needed a big athletic scholarship and Williams as a D3 doesn't offer them.

100%. Williams is the winner here - provided the kid is social and will mix well with that jock-finance crowd.

OP here - don’t want to name the sport, but it’s not lacrosse or football - and he’s not the heavy partying type and would worry that the Williams pipeline to the street is mostly for the bro brah helmet sport kids?

Right. And what happens to the non-athlete Econ bros?

They do well and also place into banking and consulting. But, athletes of both sexes really do have a leg up on everyone else.

Honestly any athlete is fine. The women have been really crushing it the past few years.

Nope, not at all.

Exactly my kids experience!

Econ and Finance? Williams for sure. I'm a Williams grad and MANY of my classmates ended up doing consulting, finance, ibanking... including kids who weren't even Econ majors. But be sure DC can take the small town & winter weather.

I think the only question here is if Williams can actually be a done deal. Athletic recruiting can go astray.

Yeah - what exactly is the sport OP plays? It is baseball? Lacrosse? Crew?

If you have a 1500 plus with rigor you can get coach support. With coach support and passing the pre-read admissions to JHU is as close to guaranteed as it is at Williams.

OP already said does not want to reveal but does not matter re: choice between a school that places better for athletes majoring in Econ than almost all Ivies vs. JHU.

I like JHU more than the rest of DCUM, but I'd pick Williams here. Even for non athletes, their career counseling dept is so strong, they bring a lot of companies to campus, and the general vibe among kids is academics now with an eye toward career ie everyone on your floor will also be going to hear the reps from XYX.com and XYZ.gov come to speak.

Williams is so small and isolated with a real winter. It isn’t for everyone. Op, schools are basically a wash academically. Go with where your kid is most comfortable and can see themselves be happiest.
