DC turned 18 and wants to open up a checking account. Suggestions?

We use USAA so our kids have had USAA accounts for most of their lives. Both savings and checking accounts with debit cards, they got savings accounts when in elementary school and the “checking” account when they were in middle school. Neither has ever had actual checks.

Makes it super easy to transfer allowances and money for college expenses when they need to pay them directly. No accounts have fees, and they reimburse ATM withdrawal fees up to a limit.

you could try a smaller bank - they often have checking with no minimum balances but that pay no interest. (maybe Fulton bank)
