Nope. Wise’ guarantee is only for students who were waitlisted for Arts & Sciences, offered ann alternative spot at Wise, and maintain a minimum GPA for a year at Wise. They have separate classes only for this cohort. Enter Wise as a regular admit and your child will not be transferring to UVA. |
If you are reciting the specific details, why stop there? Enter VCCS and don't get the required transfer GPA and you won't be admitted to UVA (or other Virginia universities). |
Was it education or something else? |
No. Extremely hard. It is a very small program with a very high yield rate. And you have to write a supplement . |
I would hope that writing a nursing supplement would be a piece of cake for someone who wants to be a nurse.
|
Utterly false, and I’m on grounds so would know. Please give the names of these politicians and their children at UVA |
At UVa, Architecture, Engineering, and Nursing are all harder admits than Arts & Sciences. All 3 are much smaller than A&S. Kinesiology is in the Education school. No idea how easy or hard to get admitted to that. |
One used education. The other sports management. |
Let's not post the names of kids (some of whom are minors) who aren't public figures just because their parents are. |
| NP here. So, if you want to do engineering, the Wise option is not open to you? My daughter was just deferred EA so just wondering. If one is interested in engineering, is NOVA + transfer the only back door option for you? |
Ok just post the names of the public figures who have taken advantage of their position by sending their kids there, as promised above. I’m waiting |
The BSN Nursing program admits only 75 freshmen a year. It’s tiny. |
| Why not just transfer in from JMU ? |
The architecture program is kind of a waste. The degree does not allow one to sit for the licensing exam. People coming out of that school STILL have to go to an accredited graduate program to obtain a degree that allows one to sit for the exam. |

You can transfer from any school. It does not have to be CC or Wise. Me kid transferred from another (way lower ranked) 4 year college after freshman year. Had great GPA (all As except an A- in a calc class and had a schedule with no fluff classes), also had very good ECs (including an internship during freshman year while maintaining great grades). Was OOS and went test optional for the transfer. Never would have gotten in OOS straight from HS.
Transferring is hard, though. The adjustment can be really tough. My kid loves UVA and dos not regret it for a minute. |
