| Does anyone know anything about this? Could you apply to architecture, or kinesiology, or nursing, and switch once you are there? And what kind of courses should you have to support an application to one of these schools? |
|
15% Architecture
7% Nursing 12% Kin 18% Engineering 16% A&S Which one looks like a backdoor? |
BOOM 💥 |
| The only back door is the community college track. |
I think the nursing is an easier admit / smoother backdoor. |
Where did you find these numbers? |
Yes, I know two people who did this. One went through the guaranteed admission program and the other applied after 1 year at CC and was accepted. Not the full traditional experience but I think it’s ok if the kid from VA because they likely have high school friends who can help them get acclimated socially. |
|
Nursing is direct admit. Hardly back door.
|
| First year at Wise? |
| This strategy is more effective at VT. My daughter speaks from experience. Admitted to sociology with a 3.4 and no SAT submitted. Granted this was a couple of years ago. |
|
Architecture is the easiest admit academically based on who we know. They were not 4.6/1570 kids but rather more typical students who had developed architecture portfolios through summer programs in high school.
That said, I'm not sure how possible it would be to transfer from architecture to another school at the university and complete things in 4 years because the architecture school curriculum is so unique from the first semester on. |
Can’t transfer from Wise, unless you are in the specific program there, designed for later uva admission. |
+1 |
I think this is the program for kids waitlisted at UVA |
+1. That is the program. |
