All Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go stores are closing

Over 95% of Americans eat garbage day in, day out. Organic, avoiding seed oil caliber of food buyers are very, very niche.

We didn't buy much there but used it often for Amazon returns.

I won’t miss the 10,000 cameras in the ceiling watching my every move

I bet they will- still a good spot for groceries.

We need something there. I haven’t been to giant in months and Safeway in years. Only fresh and Whole Foods. Their prices are really good.

This. I never grasped the concept of what it was supposed to be. I strictly used it as the place to make Amazon returns.

Amazon is awful. There's nothing to love about it.

Not surprised but disappointed. I also live near the CC Lake one and it is so much easier to go there instead of Safeway or Giant. The prices were much much better and the store was never crowded. But, it good be hit or miss on the items available. And yes, employees all stoned.

Proximity, low prices for a lot of items, and much longer hours than the lovely old family grocery that used to sit in the same spot. Plus Amazon returns and a wine bar next door. I agree the restocking seemed awful and a lot of the staff were constantly stoned. And it's freezing all year round for some reason. But not having to get in the car and sit in stupid Bethesda or Kensington traffic? Priceless!

Prices were absurd at Potomac yard

this. The one at Potomac Yard is insanely expensive which made no sense given that it is located in an area that is super saturated with grocery stores for competition (HT, Aldi, multiple Giants, WF, and that Target even has groceries). It's like they didn't GAF about being competitive and they're nothing special so why do I need to pay Erewhon prices? I live nearby and I remember when they opened I kept getting these coupons for $10-20 off so I would stop by but after 3 times I decided this had to be some kind of a joke.

I live near the Fairfax one. Every time I went in there it was poorly stocked and only a few other shoppers. I agree that it was stupid to not just use the WF name. Call it WF express or whatnot.

Does this also mean they won’t be doing Amazon Fresh deliveries?

No. The article says “Amazon Fresh will continue to be available online.”

The concept never made any sense to me either. The one in Gaithersburg was first introduced, then they stopped building it and it sounded like it was dead but then a short time later it was built out and now this?

What I always found a sign of how poorly run these stores were is that when I made my Amazon returns in them, the acknowledgement/return credit would take a couple of weeks, vs when I make Amazon returns in WF or UPS it is near instantaneous.

Sound more like a building permit issue.

As someone without prime, I do not shop at WF or Amazon Fresh. So many choices of Grocery Stores that I do not have to pay to access sales. And the camera thing seemed creepy.
