All Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go stores are closing

Low sales. Things are rolling down hill too. UPS to eliminate 30,000 more jobs as Amazon volume cuts accelerate.

Mistakes were made!

NOOOO! I live near the Amazon Fresh at Chevy Chase Lake and it's been so amazing to have a grocery store with long hours within walking distance. I hope they keep something there; it seems fairly busy....

The grocery part was okay but it was the easiest way to return Amazon purchases

I bet they will- still a good spot for groceries.

Amazon is just doing its own deliveries. They are not liosing volume.

I’m disappointed. Did anyone else use it to stay on budget? It was so easy to stick to a grocery budget this year when we were furloughed. I understand I can do the math at a regular store, but it was easy to see my receipt on the cart and prevented any over spend. We were on a $75/week budget for five people and we were able to make it work with good food using their smart carts. Anyone know of an app that can scan like that to keep you on budget?

Amazon Fresh sucks. The one in Chevy was mostly processed foods, mediocre produce, and limited stock of everything. No clue why someone would shop there.

Proximity, low prices for a lot of items, and much longer hours than the lovely old family grocery that used to sit in the same spot. Plus Amazon returns and a wine bar next door. I agree the restocking seemed awful and a lot of the staff were constantly stoned. And it's freezing all year round for some reason. But not having to get in the car and sit in stupid Bethesda or Kensington traffic? Priceless!

Amazon Fresh was the only grocery place that fully committed to the hot bar section after Covid wiped it out at Wegmans and Whole Foods, and the Amazon Fresh at Manchester Lakes in Kingstowne was always very busy at lunch time.

Prices were absurd at Potomac yard

Bezos gets stock, not ownership.

+1. Whole Foods is an exponentially stronger brand for a grocery store. Why would they waste billions trying to create a new grocery store brand from scratch? Sometimes I think this sort of “dumb” insider stuff in business is just an insider scam to launder and embezzle large sums of money.
