Just back from a sorority reunion

OP here. Yikes. This is quite the take on things. My sorority is actually one of the oldest and best known in the country. It has alum chapters nationwide and it's been a great way to meet people in every city we have moved to. |

People were great. Many of us are near retirement ages. We had attorneys, accountants, occupational therapists, teachers, a police officer, nurses, journalists, etc. Many 40 year marriages and people married to college sweethearts. Turns out some fraternity men do make great husbands. Lots of reminiscing and working together to set up our events over the weekend. |

I mean many were still married to people they knew in college. But all the women had degrees and I didn't run in to one stay at home mom. So they didn't have to marry "well" -- they were CPAs, CFOs, lawyers, teachers, veterinarians, etc. |

| My sorority was overall a good experience for me, and I definitely don't fit the "sorority girl" profile, then or now. Still hang out with several of them and the women I met through them. I would absolutely support my daughter if she chose to rush. It can be hard to find good friendships in college; this is one way. |

Because they were SLAC losers or just losers in general. Surprised no one so far has busted out with “glad I didn’t have to buy my college friends.” This place is overrun with socially awkward people. |
