GBBO is great, but I also like The Kitchen on Food Network (it was better when Marcella was on, but still solid).

The interesting thing about America's Test Kitchen is that the women all got more attractive and confident as the years rolled by while the men didn't. It's usually the opposite. Looking at them as very young women in the early days is a bit of a shock. They put on weight and carried it well IMO.

Lol to your observation that goes beyond the foods

It's entertainment. They have to be good cooks (as far as we can tell; maybe the food is terrible IRL) AND make food that looks like something we'd want to make and serve, AND make cooking look like fun AND make eating food look good, too. A lot goes into making a winning show. Look at the early Jamie Oliver shows -- whoever made them was a genius. Some of them are like watching music videos. Super entertaining. As he matured, he became a man who was fun to watch cook and fun to watch eat. I love his shows as a middle aged man too.

I don't know why there's no music in those youtube videos -- must be copyright issues -- but if you get the chance to view them on a streaming service they're worth watching. The music is great and a really fun watch. Naked Chef Rock and Roast and Naked Chef On The Beach.
