Teacher absences

I'm looking at an opening for a contract teacher (hired by outside company, not the school district itself) to teach special Ed in California. Pay is 3k a week. Yes, a week. They also subsidize moving expenses. I need to look at the final package, but I can earn more in the next 4.5 months than I can in a year where I live. I'm thinking about retiring and just doing this. I can live in CA in the crappy part of the year and then move back home in nice weather. My husband can fly out to see me 3-4 times.

Interesting. I am a DCPS teacher and our administration swears up and down they can’t have permanent subs anymore.

They are lying to you both or are not so great at their jobs because they are misinformed.

This is a random school I pulled up, look under ‘school instructional support positions.’ Hmmm ‘school building substitute teacher.’

NP and I am not surprised. I think it could be either lying or not understanding. Or they took the money and used it elsewhere. They claim we can’t do stuff often that I know lots of other schools do.
