Anyplace that declares itself a “sanctuary” for those that are illegal immigrants is potentially a target.

Bernie declared illegal immigration a Koch Brothers scheme in 2015 that would lead to depressed wages and displacement of American workers.

What happened?

By all means people should act according to their conscious, while following the law (which guarantees Americans the fundamental right to protest). But if anyone does, please prioritize safety. What happened in Minneapolis was a tragedy that never should have happened. I’m not saying it was Ms. Good’s fault, she should have been able to protest safely, but it was basically a clusterf - - - where if anyone had acted differently, things might have had a different outcome.

Tensions since then have escalated. I don’t know if Trump was trying to provoke an incident, but he has certainly been exploiting it. I think he’s been ramping tension higher so that he’ll have an excuse to invoke the insurrection act. In this powder keg environment, every interaction between ICE and bystanders (active protesters or not) is fraught with peril. While it has always been important to keep protest peaceful, I think protestors should now focus on actively trying to bring tension down. Even if ICE arrests a protestor, lawyers and courts can eventually remedy the issue, but they can’t remedy death.

When he was teaching me how to drive, my grandfather said something that has stuck with me. He told me that occasionally someone would try to cut in front of me when I had the right-of-way. He explained that even if the other person was wrong and I was right, I should yield to them. He pointed out that although I might legally be right, I might be “dead right”.

Please everyone, whatever you may do, stay safe so you can go home to your loved ones at the end of the day. Live to protest again another day.

It’s not a targeted crackdown on Dem states, PP. Republican governors are cooperating. Dem governors are using this to cause a scene. That’s the difference.

The two new bills that MoCo is introducing on Tuesday will likely put us on the federal radar in a bad way. Banning ICE from wearing masks and banning from from public parking lot.

They are meant to help people here, but I fear they will hurt undocumented community members by bringing more vindictive ICE activity instead.

Neither the state or the county has the authority to ban federal agents from public property. I guess they are interested in giving Trump a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act.
