How many Bath & Body Works candles for someone’s 40th birthday? One candle seems cheap but four seems like too many?

+1 give a first edition of a good book or an experience

Dumb answer. OP didn't ask what YOU want!

The answer is, any 40 year old woman who asks for a candle should get one, and something else like wine or a gift card as others have posted

Asking because people seem to have collections of these candles. One candle as a gift seems too few but three seems too many? Or do you need to give 4-5 to make it a nice gift?

I'm sorry, are those pictures OF HER HOUSE?

Google bath and body works candle collections. My coworkers go berserk for these and the other products during the annual sales. I’m talking sleeping outside the stores overnight and standing in hours long lines. It’s a thing.

?!?!

Those are people's homes?!?

You could always add a gift card so they can continue to collect

They actually WANT these?
I’d say zero, get a better brand and get just one.
But if they actually specified these….two is fine

It's nice when someone gives you exactly what you want. I'd choose 2-3. I would also not be able to spend time in her home, but that's not the question.

One. And a nice handwritten card. That’s it.

PP here and no thanks. I've already learned way more about this than I'd like to.

Why are people saying candles are an odd gift? I think all the of the candles I own have been gifts. Do people even buy candles themselves? LOL

None, unless you have a specific reason to think they want them.
Personally, I like the little hand sanitizers from Bath and Body works, but the scent of their other products is too strong.
