“It’s just her personality.”

Just so posters know, in the vast majority of cases bipolar is nothing like op describes. While people in a manic or mixed state can obviously be irritable and unpredictable the key is those are episodic states-not someone who is consistently a hot head or short tempered.

People with bipolar are “normal” for long stretches in between episodes of mania or depression. The episodes are measured in multiple days or weeks not hours or minutes as op describes.

I don’t have bipolar but hate to see people attributing what is likely a personality disorder or even just plain jerkiness to a disorder they did nothing to cause.

Bipolar folks are dangerous.

Accept no excuses whatsoever.

Ableism is dangerous. This isn't scientifically backed by anything, and you're simply prejudiced against people who are already suffering. Just MYOB and you'll be fine. No need to be a whole twat about it.

NO. Ableism isn’t what you think it means.

Twatty, learn. "Bipolar folks are dangerous" is an outright lie, utterly unsubstantiated by any credible fact source. Spreading tropes about people suffering from mental health issues is ableist.

Do better.

No one can take you seriously when you use such infantile language. I hope you speak better than you write.

You clearly understood well enough to take it personally and resort to attacking the person and not the point.

PP speaks/writes just fine, and the point is sound: Spreading tropes about people suffering from mental health issues is, in fact, ableist. Sorry you're struggling to handle it and change your behavior. Get help.

Re: Poster who likes to use the t word.

Agree they make a good point about people here making free to diagnose someone based on an anonymous poster’s description. It’s offensive.

Disagree they were not offensive as well. They attacked the other poster with their language, language designed to offend. Ad hominem attacks undermine an argument.

Go ahead. Take your shot. Feel free to use your very favorite insult. It only hurts you.

Disrespectful people can and should be met with disrespect. If they wanted kindness, they could've been kind.

Imagine being this butthurt about a word that got past the censors... Glad you don't have any real problems!

Obviously that’s your approach. Even when another poster doesn’t attack you. Go for it. Get down there in the mud with them.

Huh? I am not the poster who wrote what bipolar people are dangerous but did write that posters don’t know what ableism means. What is dangerous for disabled people like me is for others to throw it around incorrectly.

You are awfully hostile. I hope you find peace in 2026.

I'm neither awful nor hostile, but you can judge a stranger however you need to. I wish you the same peace; happy people don't behave the way you're behaving.

Once again, you've lashed out at the poster instead of addressing the point. PP's definition of ableism is correct, so I don't know what you're prattling on about. Maybe make a point, if you have one?

Nah, I would've simply told OP to eff off and been done with it. I love how all the tropes are getting trotted out though. "It's the neighbor/spouse/antagonist from OP's story!" "I hope you find peace" "You're hostile/angry/stupid".

Y'all can't have a conversation and stay on topic without getting all in your feelings and projecting onto people you don't know and wouldn't recognize if you saw them. It's kinda sad, or would be, if I cared at all what DCUM randos thought.

The subthread started with someone dropping some ableist nonsense. Someone called it out. Lots of someones couldn't handle that, and started lashing out at the person who called out the ableism. I sided with the "No, that's ableist" position, and now you're all gunning for me.

This isn't a story about me.

But somehow you made it all about you and your feelings. Magic how that happened.

Where you live? Nah. You sure do seem to want to stir up some conflict and drama though. I wonder why...

Oh, lil buddy! No. Nothing in any of these posts is about my feelings. It would be rather magical for that to have happened, which is how sane people can clearly see that it didn't. If you're capable of adult conversations, please scroll up and rejoin the actual discussion about ableism, instead of subtweeting a story about what a foolish person you are.
