No sooner than February.

Varies by club and league level. Clubs usually announce based on their tryout dates. Based on last year, the club we are at will announce around February for the NL platform and later on for all other levels.

We didn’t find out our coach (U11 if that matters) until the season started in August.

That is really unusual. Almost everyone wants to know who the coach will be, and see the coach at tryouts, before committing to a team. You might end up with a lousy Valor style parent coach otherwise.

The club can also switch coaches on you. Not for bait n switch reasons but simply that things change.

Anyone expecting coaching changes for their current teams? If so, which?

I would not admit that publicly.

Coach > Club

They can do that to you because you let them.

If you want the option to void based on a coaching change, request it. If you give the club permission to switch coaches on you, keep doing what you’re doing.

Coaching slate can always change. It can change before season starts or even during the season.

If parents would just stick together and stop signing these offer letters before coaching slates were announced things would be much better.

Some clubs have waited as long as May/June to announce.

Go to a smaller club, pay less, allow your child to develop and make friends and try again with the big boys at a future date. Don't waste your money, their time or their future, because they are only taking a 4th, 5th, 6th, and dare I say 7th and 8th team to increase their own paychecks, not to help your child to continue to improve

And if they’re small know that no one has read Kahnmann in travel soccer. (Pre-moneyball).

Or force real change at high school. Even though it’s poor play, force NCAA to recruit from only from high school games. You can certainly play travel but ban all college coaches from participating. It’s ridiculous that college recruiting comes from it solely. Travel is the problem.). Their business win has forced your kid into un-winnable situation.
