Mine saved a couple of artistic review/portfolio reconfigurations for the break but then told me they want to apply to two more schools that weren’t originally part of their plan, whose deadlines are Jan 1 I appreciate their drive but I thought DC was done and wrapped apart from some portfolio formatting.
This morning I told DC no working on college stuff today and tomorrow (never thought I’d say that!). |
| Sending good vibes to all. We lived this two years ago. Kid did have a bunch of apps in before the ED disappointment. But did so many more over break. Tough. |
| We’ve got one EA acceptance to a safety, ED rejection, and 2 deferrals from targets so the kid is plugging away at supplementals for about 3-4 more schools. This timeline is rough! |
|
DC has ten supplementals to write during the break. I have seen no stress in her perhaps because she has EA acceptance in hand. Her strategy of pushing RD supplementals to the break works out very well.
Getting exercise regularly, staying healthy, having a clear mind. Laser focus on supplementals during the break. Soon will be done! |
| My parents were not involved at all when I was working on applications to top schools 30+ years ago, during Christmas break. I wish I could say I was the same with my kid, but I nagged and reminded them all the time. These are different times and our kids are living in a different world. Maybe we parents know too much about what’s going on. Hang in there all, and take plenty of hot chocolate breaks. It will be ok and your kids will all end up someplace great. |
