DC is a bit burned out so churning them out slowly.
He has 3 more to write, and 1 he will push since it has a later Jan date. He's in a 2 safeties but trying to keep a good number of target/reaches in just to see what's possible. |

| I've just started yelling. Like all the time. I no longer have an inside voice. |
I’m sorry and I get it. |
Ha. Same. I had a complete meltdown today. I did not even realize tomorrow is Christmas Eve. The sheer agony of going through the supplements with kid. So so so so many supplementals. I was still in my pjs and tine from the night before at 8pm because I was lost in application phase. And screaming at him to get this sh@t done because I want at least 1 week to enjoy before heading back to work (I have next week off too). |
| Of course then you find 1 or 2 mistakes that somehow got by the 1000 reviews from the ED/EA apps- ugh |
| I’m barely hanging on. |
The kids could have completed applications earlier, but chose not to. Oh well. |
| Sympathies and encouragement to all. Hang in there! |
Shut up. It’s hard bc a kid who ED’ed usually just found out about a deferral or rejection 2 weeks before the early Jan wave of apps are due. So for kids applying to 16 schools in early Jan, they would have needed to allot an enormous amount of time into those new wave of apps while in school AND mentally not knowing if they were even needed. It’s a lot to ask kids. Then add in there kids who did work on them early but wants to redo them now with some intervening time. My kid did get in ED and had done work on the next wave just in case but still would have been slammed with work if ED didn’t work out. |
If your kid uses common app, there’s a deadline list that’s just the schools they are applying to. It felt nice to see common app check off each school as they submitted here! |
This is basically my kid, too. In at 2 schools already, waiting on 2 EAs that could go either way, and hoping to pump out 3 or so over the break. I’m not getting involved at all at this point. She’s been working so hard in school lately, I just want her to be able to relax over the break and get some social time with friends. If she ends up at her safety, she’ll be fine. |
^^ yup my kid plays a Fall HS sport and his club team is year round. End of August-end of November is his busiest time. Throw in a highly rigorous AP schedule and maintaining As. The common app essay was done before school started- but supplementals weren’t even released for most of his schools. He was deferred on 12/18 so now in application he’ll since we wanted him concentrating on first semester grades first. |
| It’s so so bad. The supplementals. Good luck to everyone for getting through it without going crazy. |
