Or they can implement what all these other major flagships do for EA and notify earlier than late Feb!!!

ED would be preferable so that those for whom VT is their first choice can express that in no uncertain terms.

That would make sense.

Did this make you feel better?

this. GMU engineering is held in high regard

Ugh, that can't be comparable to a big, real university like VT. GMU is just basically like an expensive NVCC. No fun vibes.

Have you been on campus lately? I went there for grad school years ago when it was as you describe above. Visited recently and cannot believe how much the school has changed for the better. New dorms, new buildings, and definitely a campus vibe now. Which is nice, because even back then I was so impressed by the professors. It is a very good school and now feels like other four-year schools.

What major for the VT kid?

It's increasingly not "much easier" at all.

That is not what the SCHEV data says.

Cite?

Isnt that what poster just did?

SCHEV data is only gpa and sat/act, it doesn’t have results by major, as far as I’ve seen.

If you’re paying big bucks for a “fun vibe”, you’re doing it wrong. In the meantime, we Virginia residents will continue to take advantage of the great value that is GMU.

While GMU is not like top 20-40 it has far changed than 10 years ago. The education is good specially for few majors.

Finding an affordable OOS flagship is well worth it. Football is more important than you seem to realize.

Not to everyone.

+1 My niece is at Penn State for engineering and was rejected at UVA and waitlisted at VT (OOS for all.) She loves it.

This depends on the student. I never cared about any college sports.
