| DS deferred (business)but has been accepted at TN and Clemson with merit offers. Surprising cuz USC is ranked below both and his stats are 4.4, 1450. Coming from a dc private. |
| Yeah but SC b school has a better reputation than Clemson’s or TN |
| Accepted- music major. |
Does he have a preference between UGA and SC? |
Congrats, you’re learning that rankings are BS. |
Only for International Business |
Darla is probably better overall. |
| They do prioritize in-state. |
UGA 1000%. |
|
I wonder if U of SC will be this cycle’s Syracuse. So many deferred with much better options. So many admitted with way better options. My kid was deferred and already admitted to Penn State (main campus) and UTK (with merit).
Will deferred kids “fall in love” with other acceptances and “reject” the Gamecocks? |
No. The SEC flagships are in vogue. Cold weather private schools are not. SC is more popular than the colleges you mentioned. |
Can you share why? DD is a junior and will tour both this spring. I know UGA is higher ranked. |
|
Syracuse is private and 90k COA. SC is public and max 58k COA. Plus SC’s applications are up exponentially relative to Syracuse.
They are not in the same boat; SC won’t be scrambling for enrollment. |
| USC_C has been overenrolling and there is growing blowback from existing students regarding the crowded campus and inadequate scaling for the growth. They may have to use the WL to try and better manage the yield. |
Wrong. They’re not over enrolling, this is planned growth for the hottest SEC flagship second to only UGA in popularity. |
