That's just wasteful. I am just wondering why so many stores left in droves? I get the covid thing but did the mall drive them out by having too high leasing fees? Tysons is far and too much traffic. Fairfax corner leaves a lot to be desired. Not much going on there.

Most of the stores that left were companies not doing good. Forever 21: Bankrupt. Gap/BR: Closed 500+ locations, Aveda: Closing stores, Hollister: Closed hundreds of stores before recent revitalization

Sorry meant to say Abercrombie not Hollister. The major chains that are still there are doing quite well.

That's not totally true. Apple and CFA also left. I think Starbucks too.

I heard the Chick Fil A one was because CFA wasn't permitting franchise locations anymore and the Fair Oaks one wasn't corporate owned. Starbucks moved to the parking lot so it could have a drive thru.

Wan't there a lot of controversy when it was in the works, and the development on the other side of Rt. 50?

All malls blow chunks of dead chicken through a straw these days.

I bought and later sold one of those townhomes nearby that was built on the battleground. I didn't know the full story until later. Never did see any ghosts.

Fairfax Corner is busy as hell- have you been in the past year? Tons of stores and restaurants, new condo building- and I avoid because parking is atrocious.

There are restaurants and a movie theater, apple and rei. That's about it. Not much shopping. Definitely not a one stop shopping destination. I got excited for the IKEA then saw it was just a tiny room where you can look at their stuff online and plan a kitchen. Parking is atrocious.

Back when Fairfax corner opened there was a great container store type store that I enjoyed but it closed. Arhaus build a brand new showroom, I think the old one is still vacant?

Fairfax Corner is NOT a mall so obviously not a one stop shop- but I guess you overlooked the other stores like Arhaus, blue mercury, chicos, creative collection, j mclaughlin, king authur, loft, monkees, PR running, rowan, good feet store, the nest egg and warby parker?

Go to Dulles Town Center if you want to see a crappy mall.

Half of those are places you might go one or twice a year at most. My kids would go to Hollister multiple times a week if they could.

There's a holiday pop-up that I think is in the old Arhaus.

In the 80s, I worked there and we used to go to Mrs. Fields’ cookies after closing. They always had tons of cookies left over and would give us bags of all kinds of great cookies at times.

I worked across the street from Fair Oaks from 2005 to 2015. It got plenty of business back then. But I can see it going downhill due to the pandemic and the continually increasing competition from online shopping.
