This is coming from a parent who has observed tons of older biobands coming down and making huge impact in MLS 1.

There will be pure 2012 and 2013 teams in MLS 1 which is exactly what I was talking about. I think there will be some teams that are labeled MLS 2 within a club that are stronger than the same clubs MLS 1 team because the 2 team will be comprised mostly of kids between August and December of the prior birth year.

MLS 1 is mostly p2p clubs. They don’t care about developing 1-2 players. They also don’t care about outside tournaments but they do care about the neverending headache that this decision will be.

Mls1 p2p is not mls academies.

The better players being younger, by a few months, will still outperform the SY kids

U8-u12 will all be 8/1 so this will favor August-October players. Over time, fall birthdays will be the strongest group, just as Jan-march birthdays are now in the BY system. BY top tier players will be stronger than SY players now, but that will shift as kids start to grow up in the SY system.
