What helped your dry eyes?

I used a hot wet washcloth compress for 5-10 minutes every morning.

Omg đŸ˜± that is unusable bc of the bitter taste that runs down your throat after using it.

It didn't taste that bad to me. Maybe that is specific to you?

I used an electric heated eye mask made by Wizard Research and bought at an optometrist. I put it on “level 1” for ten minutes twice a day. It was wonderful NOT to have to deal with warm washcloths that would get cool. This worked quite well for dry eye.

What totally fixed my dry eye 100% was going on HRT. I had no idea that would be a beneficial side benefit. I no longer use the eye mask.

Avoid LED lights.
That includes computer screens, TVs/flatscreens, Phones, lighting, etc.

It's the LED's.

For me, avoiding any unnecessary screen time has been huge. (Yes I know where I am).

These PPs know what's what.

Restasis side effects include pancreatic cancer.

That's very rare- and the study was with oral meds.

Do you have a legitimate source for that statement? I have never seen anything about that.

I just spent 10 minutes googling and couldn't find anything related to this. I swear some people on this forum just spew garbage.

You idiot its on the pamphlet that comes with the drug. Plain as day.

Not for the eye drops you idiot. Just for the oral medication. Try reading before you spew garbage.

Try Muro 5% drops. They are OTC. My eye dr recommended them. I have something called corneal edema which makes my eyes dry and eyelids stick to eye causing small tears. This has worked wonders. I use in at night and first thing and if I wake up in the middle of the night. It stings like the dickens for a minute.

Humidifier in my bedroom at night (mandatory) and systane eye drops twice a day.

Yeah the packaging pamphlet that comes with the rx!!! After i paid $1500 for it! Its probably on the website too.

So they list everything that happened to anyone taking the drug during trials. It doesn’t mean Restasis caused pancreatic cancer. It just means someone in the trial group got pancreatic cancer. It isn’t a causation statement. The affliction probably had nothing to do with eye drops.

This is such a silly waste of time -restasis has been on the market for close to 25 years, if there were risks of pancreatic cancer, they would take it off. There’s tons of other eye drops available at this point
No need to keep something on the market that causes a serious and often terminal illness.

Pancreatic cancer is a risk for immunocompromised patients taking the oral form of cyclosporine. Not the general population with dry eyes.

That's not the whole story. restasis caused pancreatic cancer in rats, mice and hamsters.

Here is the miracle that saved me (used to use ointment at night or drops, tried eye heating pad, etc): I have little plugs that the optometrist put into my lower tear ducts. It's a total gamechanger!! You can get temp or "permanent" ones. I upgraded to permanent, but one has popped out after several months, so I need to get it replaced, but these are the best solution ever.

Sure cite your source-I’m sure you have a link to a research paper-right?

The cause of my dry eyes was hyperparathyroidism, so having a bad parathyroid removed was what cured my dry eyes.

They are a good solution but they're expensive, even with insurance. My "permanent" one popped out after a week, and had to be replaced and it happened again a month later...it's a lot of hassle.
