I agree that this is nothing new for him.
But if you read the whole tweet — start to finish — it really is wise that where he was previously. It’s incoherent. If a coworker sent a message like this, you would be calling HR, they would be out on leave pending a medical clearance and people would be discussing whether a protective order is warranted. It’s absolutely crazy. And anyone pulling out one or two offensive bits from this screed of vitriol and nonsense is undercutting the seriousness of the situation. I can’t understand how anyone can read that and not get a pit in their stomach. |
I am not a troll or asleep, I think he used a word properly. |
That must be why you have to,use “@“ for “a” in your response. |
How so? |
The absolute blistering irony. |
It has been unacceptable to use this term to mean “slow” for decades. If you don’t know this you are perhaps a little slow yourself. But the more likely scenario is that you do know this and you’re trolling. Either way, GFY. It was an improper word |
| MAGA please explain how you claim to be pro life and at the same time are fine with a slur so incredible offensive to Down syndrome people and their families? |

Parent of a HS aged kid with an IEP. This will have no effect on him or us. Honestly, I found out about it here and am not following his social media posts. My kid is not personally hurt by this. To be perfectly honest, everyday teen banter is much much worse. They are pretty awful.
No, it’s not okay. No, I’m not excusing it. OP asked what effect this will have on kids with disabilities and as a parent of a HS kid I’m answering that. |
Thank you for posting this. Does your kid have ID? |
It’s in writing on his Thanksgiving post and is reference to Governor Walls. |

No impact.
But what a complete @sshole. I think it would be better not to give that word any power. Words fall in and out of fashion and word use changes over time. |
Yup |

This isn't English class. We aren't grading the diagramming of sentences or using vocabulary words correctly in a sentence.
Read the room. People visiting this board know more than most that words hurt. Let me spell it out for you. He used the term in this context to denigrate another human being by describing people who have disabilities as a really bad thing to be. There, you still going to argue it was grammatically, correct? Yes, it was. Now what? It's ok to insult a whole segment of society as long as the term is used correctly??? Sorry, pet peeve of mine, rant over. |
