What do you think of Trump using the R word?

What impact is this going to have on kids with intellectual disabilities? How can anyone with a kid with a disability still support Trump?

The man is senile.

If people didn't know who he was by now, I don't know what to tell them.

There is no bottom. His base either doesn't care or worse, actually likes his hate filled diatribes.

I think that his use of the term, is terrible, and a sign of who he is as a person. But I think his policies, like slashing medicaid and special education services, are worse.

Having said that, I have less of a problem when Trump uses the word, because I already knew him to be an heinous and untrustworthy person, than when liberals use the word or variations of the word. Hearing or reading those words from people who I feel I need to trust to fight for my loved ones is terrifying, and yet I hear people ironically referring to them selves as lib****s or calling Trump a fu*kt*** all the time. It's disgusting.

Disappointing, but not surprising. I never supported him, and this is just another example of why not.

Sounds exactly like something he’d say. No surprise here. He called a woman Piggy last week and told another woman she’s stupid this week. He calls people names regularly.

None.

How can anyone with a kid with a disability still support Trump?

They can’t.

Some state senator(R) from Indiana has a daughter with Down Syndrome. He’s just announced that in light of Orange Cheetoh’s post using the r-word, he will not be voting for redistricting in the state to favor republicans.

I think the whole "Don't use this word" thing is ridiculous. I think it takes away the focus from the intent of the person. If a person says, "I am such a Re---d" it is much different than saying, "You are a re-t-rd." Clearly Trumps entire intent is to belittle people and make them feel he is powerful and they are not. That is the problem, not the use of a single word, whether it starts with R or N or P.

In 2015, Trump mocked a reporter with a disability and people still voted for him. He has used the r word as an insult many times over the years and people still voted for him.

The people who vote for him obviously do not care.

If you can't understand why it would be hurtful for someone to have their identity used as an insult, I don't know what to say.

Excuses, excuses. He is not senile. He talked like this thirty-years ago. This is Trump and who he is.

OK, your post made me Google. There is no proof of this. Allegedly, he may have called Jeff Sessions this in 2015. What is the point of this post? It's not current. (and I'm not a Trumper, but really . . )

Let's talk about why people who voted for him don't care if he uses the R word. They voted for him because he promised to do something about the fact that most people cannot afford to live anymore. That all the Bushes and Obamas and Bidens all said, the economy is great! The problem is you! When in fact, for a large and growing number of people, they see their purchasing power eroding and elites telling them not to use this word or that and to be kind to everyone while being paid slave wages. Trump caught on to that very early and was able to parlay that into power.

Of course, he doesn't give a rats behind about the people who voted for him and they will end up even more poor. But he gave them hope and that was enough.

He is absolutely senile and he spoke like this when he wasn't. The difference now is he is the President.
