Thanks, T91 director. We were hoping you'd come on DCUM to pump your program and tell people what to post. Instructive. |
| Interesting if I was the T91 director that I would compliment other programs, but I guess you are also the same person who listens to half of what is ever said to drive your own narrative in your life. You’re probably also the same person who spreads speculation and innuendo instead of looking at what the reality is. Just someone who doesn’t see the value in talking trash about every program out there. |
| Who are the 91 coaches in nova? |
| Who cares. This will be a nothing organization. Give it 2-3 years max. Who they do think they will steal players from? True maybe? Vlc? That’s it. |
Why wouldn't you compliment other programs? What kind of lacrosse world did you grow up in? Me, I haven't spread anything. Where do you get the listens to half to drive narrative part, based on what that was said specifically? Nothing? What I saw was a guy helicoptoring in to bully folks. Your intentions are not pure, or you could've framed your post that way. And now this post ^^^ just confirms it. |
| Is this still happening? You can no longer register for their tryouts.... |
| Yes I registered and was told T91 is still coming to the area, but with the holidays, High School season, HoCo and people having paid for their current teams tryouts will be in May. |
Any club trying to hold tryouts mid season is clueless. You really think you are going to be able to get a team of kids who's parents are cool with just eating 3-4k plus on what they paid for current club? Atleast they were smart enough to pivot when they realized they had extremely low #s signing up. I still dont understand their play in this market. You have True NOVA, True Loudoun, Top Caliber, Madlax, STJ (honestly not sure if they even had any teams left). That's just the VA local teams. Maybe they try to fill the void that STJ tried to provide, but that experiment did not go well for a plethora of reasons. |
So do they still plan on forming teams that will start playing tournaments this summer? I always thought that was an odd approach as most kids are committed to teams and parents have paid through summer. |
You forgot VLC. St. J might be trying to get teams back together now that they have SF there. |
| SF? |
| Director of boys lax at TSJ |
Was a GM at the PLL and MLL level. Thats a pretty decent resume and prob a way better fit the Sowell was for that program. Maybe he can turn it around |
Spencer Ford? |
I agree that the decline of rec is the big problem in the DMV and it's largely the fault of the clubs. They keep adding B and C teams and starting crappy clubs that aren't competitive at the club level, and that draws players out of rec. The rec leagues then aren't competitive or fill teams any longer. Athletic kids who don't want to commit to the club schedule when they're in 3rd or 4th grade, but who would play rec in far or spring, don't ever get a start or drop out quickly for other sports. Then the lack of a pipeline filters up until there's only a small pool of athletic kids playing lax at 9th grade. Not many kids are going to suddenly switch from soccer or basketball when they're 14. |
