So? She should always have enough cash to cover 2-3 years of retirement. Those crashes last under 2 years. Great time to buy into market as it turns around.

Congratulations! I'm right behind you. I bought my home in 2005 and refinanced it once, down to a 3% interest rate. My home is 1100 sq ft, located in DC, and I raised my 2 sons in this very small home with zero regrets. I've got 5 more years on my mortgage!
