What about grandchildren? Are you not worried about them?

This requires going to schools where rich people are….
And running in that circle….

At many points in the past, parents have thought the same things. Everything works out. It just does. We think we live in important times. We might but probably not. We live in a time of change but probably not that great of a change when viewed over the long term. Stopt he anxiety and live life smartly.

To the PP below -- this is why you should be a humanities major. To understand the world in context. And to learn to not overreact.

+1 to all of this

Some radiologists, anesthesiologists and surgeons are being replaced now and more will be replaced in the near futere. Obviously not all but significant physicians' roles would be replaced by AI and robots.

He wants to be a geriatric physician. I'm guessing that dealing with old people won't be replaced by robots in the near future.

I think kids today should seriously be thinking about not procreating.

If they don’t go with the negative Malthusian check, the positive check will come for the grandchildren anyway.

Some of the trades are becoming saturated, or will be within a few years. Also, not everyone is geared toward the trades.

Advanced robots will do those work within 10 years. Look at all the robotic advancements out of Japan and China that US media doesn't report.

Yep so far ahead. And our kids can't even pass basic algebra

C'mon... trades is a horrible job. I work for a Construction Company and I feel terrible for the laborers. It's hard physical work, it takes a toll on your body.

The workforce is also saturated by laborers without certifications doing the job for low wages... and those "qualified" only want to do the minimal work.

OP- The concern for our children's future has always been around... I'm sure your parents worried about you as well.
We are the future of our parents' worries.... so take a look at people around you, you'll notice NOT everyone has a white picket fence or wants one!

My sibling just spent 9 days in China with the two top robotics companies. They said robots are a really long way from being autonomous.
