Frequent cold sores.

you can get HSV-1 from oral sex and a lot of kissing.

I used to have them frequently about a decade ago. I did a low-carb diet coupled with intermittent fasting for about 3-4 months and I stopped getting cold sores. I rarely have them now and only if my immune system is weakened or if I drink alcohol.

I had cold sores as a small child, if I ate salty potato chips, swam in salt water pools, used lipstick that had fragrance in it.

Now in my mid 50s I've not had one for a few years.

No one ever caught them from me. They were triggered as allergic reactions.

I get them from stress - which means I have had them multiple times this year. I also get them from sun exposure, though I have been much better in my old age with lip protection when I am outside.

I take mega doses of Lysine (capsule not caplet so it doesn't upset my stomach) (3000mg 3x/day) for the first few days and it typically resolves it quickly.

What are you even talking about????? So ignorant. I have had cold sores often since I was a child and way before I even thought about sex.

Most people get HSV-1 cold sores when they are children from close contact in schools or from their parents/grandparents kissing them, sharing glasses, etc.
Most people have 1 or maybe 2 outbreaks in a lifetime once they aquire the virus.

Having more than that means either you are being reinfected or else your body's immune system needs beefing up.

It's really baffling why people like you, who clearly don't know shit about the herpes virus, feel the need to chime in. Literally nothing you said is true.

Make sure you vaccinate your kids against HPV. It's so important.

Are you under the impression that it will protect them against the herpes virus?

I mean, sure, but it will do nothing to prevent cold sores or a herpes infection since they are completely different viruses.

Mine also come on during severe stress or illness. I usually get one and it lasts about a week. Thankfully it’s been a good while since I got one despite some major health issues this past year.
