| We're DONE!! So, so glad! There's one other one that she might submit, a reach school which is due January but honestly, she just might ditch it. She's got 14 in and 1 acceptance already. |
Wrong. It’s not easy. Every EA school my child applied to required multiple supplemental essays, all of which required research and thought. Not to mention, all of the portals and moving parts. I don’t believe any of his schools require submissions before the Nov 1 deadline for merit consideration. |
Our schools covers the cost for the first 5 transcripts but it's $5 per for every additional. |
This. I'm not going to lie, but the way things are set up, even with the common app, you really need a project manager to help through the moving parts. I was the PM helping my kid through this. I know not every kid has that luxury but really, there has to be a better way. Don't even get me started with STARS. |
Except electronically. There is no charge. I can bet you someone is pocketing that money. |
|
just submitted one ED.
I tip my hat to you guys doing so many! |
Did you do the FAFSA? |
| Senior just submitted the final app with a Nov 1 or rolling deadline. It was 6 or 7 total. It’s a lot for these kids who are busy with regular lives. Good luck to your seniors as they navigate this process. |
I’m hoping this is us in a year! |
| Best wishes to all seniors completing EA/ED apps tomorrow. My kid just got done with his 4 EA and 1 ED and it’s a great feeling. You guys can do this! |
| How do you know so much about your kids’ applications and the amount of effort involved? I am jealous! I only review the preview from the common app after DD is done with the application and provide light comments before she submits. Oh, I also know how many she has applied to because she gets my credit card. |
|
DC has 13 of 14 apps in. One ED, three 11/01, a couple rolling and RD deadlines.
They are a film/theater design major and while I *knew* the artistic submission would come after the common app was submitted, I really saw the reality of how hard my kid worked - essentially did double applications for all schools. Still has artistic review portions to do for 12/01 & RD apps but they’re in a groove |
|
Yep, this process is insane. All the schools have their own weird nuances in the application process. Why do they need STARS when it’s all typed out in the common app and they get the transcript??
Every part of the app is so much work. Kid definitely needs someone double checking to keep track of it all. |
Georgetown not on common app. UC have their own thing. UK another thing. |
Odd bc if you’re in the Common App to review the preview, you’d see full list of all pending apps. |
