Reread your post and take your ableism and discrimination somewhere else. People like you make the world worse. |
DP Re-read your post. Why do you assume all disruptive kids have a disability? |
Hahaha education is not about learning to kind in a community. That is the parents job. Education is about teaching reading, writing, math and science. |
| You should give them gift baskets because they make your mediocre child look good |
| The point of public education is to attempt to bring as much of the population as possible up to a minimum standard of academic proficiency, while promoting social cohesion, and to keep juvenile delinquents occupied. Anything else we get out of it is just gravy. It was never designed to help every individual student reach their maximum potential. |
So, you can you use your compassion and see why from my perspective, there is little value in the either the result or the process of public education. |
| If paying a fine would make my child smarter, I’m all for it, but it seems unlikely to do that. My kid has all the things—parental help, tutoring, good food, medical care, countless enrichment activities. But my kid won’t have the same academic achievement as your kids. I don’t know why this bothers you—I guarantee my kid won’t take your kid’s spot at a fancy competitive college! |
You see this is the kind of thing we have to put up with. |
| Even when some schools struggle, or when kids face behavior challenges or come from families who aren’t as supportive, it still matters that we all invest. Every child deserves a fair shot, and for many, school is the one place where they can find stability, caring adults, and opportunities to break cycles of hardship. When we give up on those schools or kids, the problems don’t disappear...they grow into bigger social and economic costs down the road, like higher unemployment, crime, and strain on public services. Investing in every school and every student is how we make sure all kids (not just the lucky ones) have a chance to contribute positively to society. |
Why should my kid be involved in your social programs though. |
School has never ever been just about letters and numbers. If you want something different what public education offers, you are free to pay for private or homeschool. I am personally glad that all of the children in our society are guaranteed an education. |
Because you live in a large society and not on an island by yourself. You think WAY too highly of yourself and your kids. |
I disrupt you bro. Thanks for arguin' |
What did you do with your kid during the pandemic when the schools were shut? That time revealed the utter selfishness and hypocrisy of anti public school people. “ I have to work, school is childcare I am entitled to“ “ I hate my kids and I should be able to dump them at school so I don’t have to deal with them” ect ect. |
| All children have a right to education. But all children don’t have a right to in person education, if the cannot behave. A fine makes zero sense, but I do think all schools need a virtual option. In person school should be reserved for the kids that want and are able to learn without being disruptive. Schools can assign virtual education if student cannot sit in class without being a distraction and disruption. |
