With the push to RTO from both government and private sectors, we should all expect more people to come into the office sick. And those of you who think the OP's masking would have protected you are crazy. How many masked people who hung out with other masked people caught COVID?Lots. People sneeze into their hands and then touch everything spreading their germs, so it's up to you to protect yourselves, not OP. And this nut job's harassment of OP's boss was over the top. Not sure why the OP's boss was mad at OP, though. Seems like a weird place to work. |
Then you should be able to handle being called out. Otherwise you are the scaredy cat. |
| She sounds annoying but going to the office sick is rude. |
| She sounds like a problem. |
| Tell your boss the truth. |
+1 |
If the Op was implicit about it, I'll make it explicit. If I were a director and a part-time temporary started haranguing me about being in the office when I didn't feel well and I was trying to finish a couple things that had to be done so I could get out of there, I'd be pissed. It's not her place. I'm sorry if that is an affront to your egalitarian senses, but it's true. Not everyone is equal in the workplace, and the pity hire who scans documents for 15 hours a week has no business interfering with long-time, high level employees who do the actual work. |

This. After Covid, you need to know to just wear a mask when you have the sniffles. She may be in the wrong 99% of the time, but you set yourself up for this one. She just said what everyone else was thinking. |
That logic makes zero sense. The onus is on the SICK person, not the healthy one! You sound very selfish. Haven't you heard of the 'greater good?" You do not live on a deserted island. If you did than we wouldn't care but, many people who are healthy may live with compromised people with weakened immunity. Why are you only thinking of yourself??? Also you are petty just like our DEAR LEADER. If you don't give feedback than how can the person change and improve? |
NP, and don't be an idiot. Being sick is not a binary equation, where being sick - any type of sick - means you should stay at home. If you have a fever, yes. If you have a head cold? It's at your discretion. If you can WAH, great, go for it. But if you need to come in, like OP, then OK. I refuse to believe you, and people like you, are completely devoid of nuance in your real life. So why pretend like you are here? |
I believe we all know what sick is and you are being the idiot here pretending that I am suggesting a mild cold means I am saying stay home. But we are only hearing op's side and they could have been sicker than they say. All I am saying is if you are really sick and I am not going to define it for you than you should stay home. The responsibility is not on the healthy person. You sound a bit unhinged or not smart enough to understand the nuance of what I was saying. But keep on 'refusing to believe' ... |
You have such contempt for stay at home parents. And how do you know 'no woman likes her?' I hope you are not a woman! You sound just awful |
The OP expressly said, "On Friday I had a small cold and was in the office." |
You sound nice. |
