+1 I think it is so disrespectful when people come to work with colds and walk around without a mask, with no consideration for the people around them. We don't want your "small cold", you selfish jerk. You both sound equally annoying, but in this case, I'd rather be around the annoying person who isn't going to infect me with her cold because she has arrogantly decided it is a "small" cold and I should be OK with her sneezing and sniffling without a mask. |

Implicit in OP's post is the sense that the lower ranking employee, a former SAHM who scans documents, is insubordinate for speaking up about Director-level germs.
|
| Tell her to keep scanning those Epstein files and mind her business. |
|
This person has no idea how to act in the workplace and should be disciplined.
FWIW, I’d say this if the ‘ranks’ were reversed too. |
| There is no way a real director level person would need advice about this. |
You're a moron. A sizeable portion of the population is sick at any given time. A sizeable portion is contagious and don't even know it. The "you should wear a mask and use PTO because you have a cold' crowd are imbeciles as well. What if OP is hoarding his PTO to use getting his child cancer treatment? Should he forfeit days with his son at Chemo because some divorced loser is scared she might catch a sneeze? You people are insufferable. If you are so scared of a simple cold then the onus is on YOU to stay home, not the person with the cold. I run my life for me, sweetie, not for you. I'd fire that beyotch so fast her head would spin. I'd be tempted to fire her brother as well for bringing in such a POS in the first place. |
| I would choose a different anecdote to showcase because in this case she had a point. |
No, she didn't. You don't harass your bosses' boss on the weekend because someone sneezed in front of you. Good God. It's terrifying that people like you exist. |
Obviously I know that. My point is OP picked an example where they were being obnoxious and triggered the person. So it would be better to hear that there is more than just this example. |
I agree. This is dumb. Ignore her. If she won't be ignored, tell her direct supervisor about it and suggest they tell her to tone it down. I think OP's real anger is about the fact that Bill got the person hired or OP is worried about saying something because of him. If you won't say anything you just have to let it go. I'm sure this isn't the first time you've had to work with someone you didn't really like. |

Mask up!! 😷😷😷😷
Don't sneeze on your coworkers. |
Agreed. This person sounds easy to ignore |
Thank you for being a voice of reason amongst the psycho germaphobes here. |
Rant all you want. Your point is what? People should go to work sick? Ok, cool. |
Yeah, if they decide it's in their interest. If I'm faced with the choice of having 8 hours to use for a long weekend or 8 hours to use hiding from scaredy cat coworkers, guess how I'm using it? |
