You mean there will never be peace as long as Palestinians resort to endless terror to try to advance their genocidal aims? At least formal incorporation of the West Bank into Israel would give the residents a chance for a decent life in a modern, successful civil pluralistic society, as opposed to what the Palestinians have done for themselves in the decades since the end of the British Mandate.

Are Palestinians in the West Bank being offered citizenship?

Too early to know. Arabs who stayed in what became Israel in 1948 obtained Israeli citizenship.

Judaea and Samaria will never be annexed as part of Israel. That ain't happening. The Palestinians in the territories will never be offered citizenship because most want Jews disappeared and Israel needs to stay majority Jewish. That is common sense. Who wants a bunch of people in a country who would slaughter every last living Jew? That would be suicide. The Palestinians need to renounce their "resistance movement" and violence and terror and recognize that Israel exists. Only then can there be any peace in the region. As soon as the Palestinians do this, their lives will improve exponentially. And the pro-Palestinian movement needs to drop the notion of "resistance" because promoting and condoning Palestinians "resistance" promotes hate, discord and not peace. Why not give the Palestinians a chance at peaceful and productive lives instead of lives devoted to destroying another people? Israel, too, needs to reign in the settlors in Judaea and Samaria.

That's not entirely true. It's complicated like everything else involving the entire conflict.

Arab Israelis as a group still are second class citizens facing 50+ discriminatory laws as well underfunded infrastructure and towns for starters

References “Judaea and Samaria”. Weirdo detected.

Footnotes “reining in” the Jewish settlers, as if they are just rambunctious kids and not full-stop terrorists. Weirdo confirmed.

I guess they did it while Vance was in Israel. Pretty embarrassing for Trump. I guess he wanted them to wait a little longer. Oh well now all those Palestinians in the West Bank will have to go just like in Gaza.

But if the hostages are released, the war ends! So the Jews claim

Clearly that is not the case and has never been the case

For 80 years the thefts have continued

People should stop supporting Israel and its genocide

All of my life I have been a staunch supporter of Israel and the Jewish people generally, born from a deep seated guilt I feel for being a cousin of Nazis who participated in the Holocaust.

On October 7 I wept and was sickened and outraged.

This last October 7 I could not care less about Israel or what becomes of the majority of people there who rabidly support the Likud policies and the conduct of the war as conducted by the criminal psychopath Netanyahu.

I think the US should be willing to accept any progressive Israeli Jews who want to emigrate here, but not those crazy right wing ones who want to ethnically cleanse Gaza and the West Bank - we don’t need those folks we have enough home grown terrorists to worry about.

Beyond that we let Israel fight its own battles, build its own military weaponry, stand on its own two feet and stop subsidizing their deluxe standard of living while our own citizens go without universal healthcare and higher education.

Buh bye Israel! That’s my new attitude after 54 years of loyal defense. I had no idea how broken things became there following the assassination of Rabin, but now I see and I will never, ever unsee.

Gotta agree with this. Palestinian obstinacy and a decades-long commitment to terrorism has not served them well; a course correction could provide them and their childrenwith much better prospects.

That's nice. The globally recognized name is the West Bank. It's equivalent to someone referring to China as Manchuko. Which would obviously be weird.

Justified prejudice against people who are the source of terrorists and terrorism is hardly apartheid. Histrionics don't make facts change. To the extent that Arab citizens in Israel face a degree of social prejudice, it's minor, not institutionalized, and reversible if a culture of hatred for Jews and support for terror is reversed. Arabs citizens in Israel can have passports, and can vote. They may serve in the military and they receive government-funded education and social services. They are, however, culturally and religiously distinct from Jewish citizens; the extent to which those considerations account for their generally differing socio-economic status is unclear. What is clear is that Arab animosity and historic periodic violence towards Jews does account substantially for whatever social discrimination does exist.

Might as well call the area Egypt, Rome, Babylon, Persia, Turkey, or the UK then. All of those lasted longer. Heck, the normal name, Palestine, is also historical and universally known so it'd be a lot easier to use.

You post is a pure fantasy rant.

Israel must address the root causes which is how Israel stole the land to create Israel, the oppression and murder of 100’s of thousand of Palestinians continually for over 80 years. Israel refuses to recognize the existence of Palestinian and a Palestinian state. Israel has sworn to kill all Palestinians.

The false state two option is off the table. Israel has said it will never allow two state solution. The only way forward is a one state solution with the disarming and occupation of Israel by UN peacekeepers for 20-30 years.

Under UN occupation Israel must offer the Palestinians right of return, compensation for property stolen, compensation for pain and suffering, compensation for lost generations, prosecution of Israeli war criminals, full citizenship for the Palestinians and renounce Israel as a Jewish state. This is the only way forward.

Anything else is Zionist propaganda at this point.

You live in a fantasy land, as do the terrorists, with respect to history, to the status quo, and to the future. The only hope for the Palestinians is to renounce terror, give up their farcical and baseless claims to land they never owned but some lived on for a brief period of time under various non-Palestinian governments (as did Jews), and sue for peace.

If they keep doing what they have been doing since 1948 they will continue to get what they have been getting since 1948. It's their choice - endless terror motivated by endless grievances passed down from generation to generation, unsupported by any capacity to change the realpolitik, emanating from an ineffective, largely corrupt civil society coupled with a feeble economy. Or, they can decide to co-exist peacefully and have an opportunity to do better for themselves and for their children for a change.

They are not now, and never have been, in a position to dictate terms to Israel. They never will be, and their failure to recognize that has been their doom. It is, however, within their power to change their attitudes and behavior, and thereby their future.
