All of them are completely irrelevant to any real issues or actionable demands. They are just cheeky entertainment bits.
I would love to see a sign demanding some changes to Healthcare system or creating a path for law obedient migrants who had been here for years to get rehabilitation and a path to citizenship, or something against rising surveillance and control of free speech and digital ID. Literally nothing of substance.
But good thing people got a nice fun times out of it. Also important |
Who is going to legislate into existence and implement these policies of substance— even if they appeared on signs? |
| "I pray 'Big Beautiful Bill' will be the name of Trump's cellmate!" |
+1 So long as Congressional Republicans believe that "Trump can do whatever he wants", we are not going to make progress on issues of substance. The aim of the protest is to get such Republicans to either change their mind, or to elect them out of office. |
Yeah, because all the folks who showed up yesterday really care nothing about those issues. Like seriously, WTH. Yes, I saw posters to protect the IDEA Act, save special education, recognize all residents of our country, and create a Medicare for All system, but they were not the preponderant ones because the folks marching ALREADY support those issues. If you do not think the exercise of unchecked power is not a real issues, then what have you been doing for the past ten years? |

It’s a little hard to fit all that on a sign. |

There were such signs, but that isn't the point of THIS thread. |
