People claimed there was a GPA over which you get accepted and the AOs are lying when they say they don't just look at GPAs. Someone posted that their kid defies this "rule." So DCUM is wrong again. |
Even if there is no rule or cutoff, trends can still be observed and can inform the application process for applicants. |
I don’t even understand what you’re saying but are you relying on a dcurban poster’s story as proof that a prior belief is incorrect? |
The law school person came in here and didn't seem to understand what the thread was about. |
4.48 wGPA and 1553 SAT were the AVERAGE stats for UVA admission when my DC applied last year and got in ED (not EA) with those exact stats. I believe the 4.48 is senior year GPA so junior year GPA would probably be around 4.4 at time of application if I extrapolate from my DC's application. I hope this helps answer your question. |
These are definitely pre-change parents. |
Would your TJ student propose that a trend can be based on a handful if unverified pieces posts on an anonymous message board? No, they'd get an F if they tried to do that. We have Naviance and the counseling office for verified information. |
They were spot on, but some just cannot accept that there isn't a fixed number to strive for. |
Crowdsourcing information works well for identifying fairly reliable trends. |
You need to look at Naviance |
It's not wrong data, it's a different point in time |
How do you not know this? Any actual parent at the school would know this. Ask the counseling office if you are actually a TJ parent. |
Why not? It makes sense they don't have strict cutoffs but they do have trends. |
4.4 or so. |
Dean J or the TJ counselor? |
