Do you know any couples where one of them is much more attractive than the other?

Men aging better than women is a poor people thing. A little bit (well, a lot) of money at the medspa and salon goes a long way. I was just at an event for major donors. Even in the age-matched couples it was a parade of well-kept, lovely, slender wives and their ogre husbands.

I think that’s possible as long as the man and woman are close in age or the man is older. If the woman is older, even with interventions and workouts, usually the age difference shows.

There was a couple in my parenting group when I had my first where it was so blatantly obvious-the woman was pretty generally weird looking-had a weird shaped face and extremely buck teeth. And was absurdly tall. The guy was conventionally attractive. She was a very high earning scientist-He never went to college and worked as a delivery truck driver. I think he was with her for the stability and she with him for his looks.

I am early 40s and a couple years ago I started getting comments that I was beautiful. I never thought of myself that way before. I have long hair, maybe that’s it? Or the buccal fat in my face wore off and I look better older. Not sure. I am a woman, I was probably always beautiful but the beauty standard was different back then and I didn’t know how to make myself up or dress in a flattering way.

Anyway. I have aged much better than my ex. He is balding, was always short but now is also pudgy.

I knew a young, extremely handsome guy who married a woman 10 years his senior who was pretty regular looking. She also had a kid already. From what I could gather, he had mommy issues and she needed saving. Perfect match, I guess, but a real waste of a ridiculously hot man.

Yes, I’m in the Foreign Service, and there are tons of average to below-average-looking American men with drop-dead gorgeous foreign-born wives. Sometimes, the wives also have better personalities.

I know a couple where the husband looks homeless and wife has had a bunch of plastic surgery and obsessed with wellness. They look like a mismatched couple. When we first met them, the husband was super fit and the mom was normal looking. When they were younger, the husband probably may have been more physically attractive.

I was probably considered hot when I was in my twenties. DH barely aged while I gave birth to three kids in my thirties. Now we both look like average middle aged people.
