Your privilege is showing. Some people care about social mobility. |
They were right next to each other in the rankings for 25 years so I think you are wrong. You of course are free to not consider them peers. |

Wake is 93 by WSJ and 98 by Forbes.
Seems like people should appreciate it 51 in USNews. |
Just because you were skinny for 25 years doesn’t mean you’re not fat now. |
Not quite "right next to," not quite "25 years" and never equal or ahead. So, nope. |
WSJ has UC Merced and San Jose Stare as T20 schools so not sure why you’d rely on that. There’s always another ranking. LinkedIn has Wake at 25 and Poets and Quants has the undergrad business program at 18. |
|
Why do people even look at rankings? They change so much from year to year.
It’s not even going to be the same rank by the time your own kid graduates. |
Never ahead? In the 2020 survey, Wake was 27 and UVA 28. Believe they were tied in 2019. No desire to waste time on this given you were obviously wrong. |
I have no kids at Wake but have been there once....this seems ridiculous. Wake is a medium-to-small sized school. That does not seem like SEC at all. |
The ranking formula changed, not the schools. |
|
These are actually the things that people should care about in a ranking. Ignore HS class standing? Class sizes? Teacher qualifications? Satisfied, successful alumni? You can worry about the rest:
- Class size - Professors with terminal degrees (the highest degree achievable in their respective fields) - Alumni giving average - Graduate debt proportion borrowing - High school class standing

More DCUM hand wringing and consternation over rAnKiNgS.
Pass the popcorn. |
Ranking-obsessed posters = insecure strivers |
| Wake is the Boston College of North Carolina. |
The SEC is vastly superior. Vandy, UF, UGA, Texas are all better. |
