Trick or treat age

Your town is run by grumps. Are there special trick or treating patrols carding kids on Halloween?

There are actually police that park their patrol car every other block with trunk open, full of candy. They sit outside car and chit chat and keep an eye out. Older kids are redirected to firehouse, where they can help give out candy or learn about fire fighting or prevention.

Does this town also ban rock and roll and dancing too? Is there a gruff minister behind it all? Sounds like a kid from Chicago needs to move there and shake things up. Perhaps by winning a tractor game of chicken and through his irrepressible charm.

How positively asinine.

I love to see older teens out having harmless fun! Anyone can come to our home for candy. I even appreciate the older boys who run around at 10:00 PM and take all remaining candy. I certainly do not want it.

When I was a tall fifth grader, age 10, I did have some lady grumpily tell me she didn’t have to give candy to children older than 12. That has really stuck with me. Don’t be that person.

12. My children stopped at that age.

Trick or treat is for children. 12 is too old.

I was shamed in 8th grade for trick or treating. I was a late bloomer and still felt very young. It was really upsetting to me.

Anyone who comes to my door in costume is welcome to candy. It’s just cheap candy, let’s not make it all precious.

Holy Cow! The ordinance thing is really silly. Let me see your ID - I think this Pink Pony is clearly 14. So is the GI Joe with it!

I went out on Halloween with my friends through HS - I didn't go my senior year because I was on a college visit, LOL. We always wore costumes and weren't jerks.

My DS quit going once in HS. My DD went last year as a soph. Not sure of this years plans - she's probably end up at a party somewhere since it's on a Friday.

What??? 12 is a church, why on earth would you tell 12 year olds not to do kid stuff? Kids are growing up faster and faster as is.

12 is a child. You’re nuts.

Things teens did on Halloween when I was in high school:
Drink
Egg cars
Toilet paper houses
Graffiti fences
Watch scary movies

Bring on trick or treating for everyone! It's so much better than the alternative (I mean aside from the movie watching).

Any age up through HS provided they are in a costume.
