Do you own any thongs?

Anonymous
They're all I've worn since college.

I tried to "go back" to briefs and they tried hipsters/boyshorts. I can't stand the VPL and riding up. I don't feel anything wearing a thong. Maybe people are wearing the wrong size.

Yes, too many to count. I'm a size 2 and very petite.

There was a national campaign to shame women for it back in the 00s. And it was mostly conducted by women against other women -- men mostly do not care about VPL. It was just a way to police other women for noncompliance with beauty norms, an activity that seemed to reach an all-time peak around 2005/2010.

It's still happening. Just look at the thread in off topic about snobbery. Women policing what other women wear is very much alive and well.

Weird. My tight clothes don’t reveal any VPL. If I wear a silk party dress, I have thin laser cut briefs that don’t show.

There is no reason for me to suffer with a thong.

Yes, I don't find them uncomfortable at all. I wear a variety of styles, I just buy what I like.

Exactly. But to be fair, they were pushing for shapewear not thongs. Apparently, the sight of a panty line totally infuriates them.

The only ones I own are ones belonging to lingerie sets, 3 pairs (red, black, and a coral color). They are worn briefly, because they tend to come off very quickly

Same. Cosabella Never Say Never Cuties are my favorite. They're similar to the Hanky Panky but jave a bit more heft to them and last a lot longer.

My drawer is full of thongs and crotchless panties

But now you have VTL. It’s completely obvious.

Or maybe people are wearing the correct size but simply do not like the feeling of a strip of fabric between their butt cheeks. Notice you didn't say "the feeling of a thong doesn't bother me" but rather "I don't feel anything." Well there is something there, and others of us CAN feel it and dont' like it.

Maybe you lack nerve endings in your butt.

One reason I don't wear thongs is that I think they feel bad unless you wax the full "undercarriage" and I don't like doing that. I keep things trimmed and tidy so that nothing is visible in a bathing suit, but I also tend to wear more full coverage bathing suits.

So not wearing a thong saves me a monthly waxing appointment, which I don't want to go to anyway. It's just all more high maintenance.

Yes, I think different people have different sensory levels. There is no way I could ever tolerate a thong. I am generally picky about the types of fabrics that go directly against my skin, and I cut off most tags because they're too scratchy.

No that's so gross 🤢 on so many levels. Just nasty

I only wear hanky panky thongs. That is, when I wear pants or shorts without underwear built in. I also wear them with yoga shorts when I go to yoga.

I keep a couple in my drawer in case I ever need them under a nice dress or something, but it's been 7 or 8 years since I've worn them. In reality, I just don't wear the kinds of dresses very often where this would matter ... and when I do, I tend to use longer shapewear instead of thongs. After I turned 40 my butt got large and very jiggly even though the rest of me is in decent shape, so a dress that's slinky enough for VPL to matter feels almost indecent without something holding the cheeks in place. So I really should just throw the thongs away.
