Where are all the adult Ethan’s? Names that you know exist on adults but you just haven’t met one in a long time

I know no young kids with these names

George, Douglas, Terry, Jerry, Frank, Keith, Allan, Walter...

Barbara, Nancy, Cynthia, Janet, Judy, Beverly

My neighbor is a Stacey. She's wise, kind and generous, but I wouldn't call her a "cool girl" (and I probably wouldn't want to live next door to a cool girl. Btw, Stacey's mom is creative and adventurous and does have it going on in kind of a Mrs. Robinson way.

Do you think the Ethans, Todds and others with names that seem to have disappeared might have been raptured? Not all at once, but in more of a slow jam rapture?

Maybe Codys (Codies?) have switched to using their middle names? I mean, unless you're a baseball player or car salesperson . . . or FBI agent, Cody might be a hard name to go by as an adult.

My 19 son has two good friends named Jason.

Where are the Matts? Nobody names their kid Matt anymore.

I just finished watching the Leftovers and this made me lol.

Keith is another name that’s dropped off the map.

Come to think of it I haven’t meant a Jason in years.

Those were all awful beta type names. Gary maybe not so much, but still.

OMG all the hot guys were named Jeremy IME.

Nah, Stacy’s mom was the cool one

I know at least 5 adult Jasons, all here in the DC area. Age range late 40s-early 50s.

I can see that. Sometimes I meet people with names that just make me wonder .... what are your parents like and what were their lives like at the time you were born? Usually this happens with people whose first names don't really fit with their last names (e.g., Magdalena O'Brien) or whose names are really out of sync with their generation (e.g., a Gen X Stanley or Harriet). When the back story comes out, it can be really interesting.

I came to say the same thing. I am married to a Jason, work with a bunch of Jason’s and meet Jason’s at my kids sporting events but they are all 70’s babies.

Op here. I have one neighbor who is an early 40s Jason. I did have a classmate Jason but interestingly in this region (I was born and raised in D.C.) there were never many classmate Jason’s at my schools. They were sort of sprinkled in here and there - one in a class.

I have a friend born and raised in Virginia named Tiffany. She’s the only one I know.

Amber is another one I haven’t met as an adult but knew a few as a kid. I know one adult Crystal.

Where did all the Megan’s go as adults?

I can name more Hollywood Megan/Meghan’s than I can in my everyday life - I don’t run into adult Meg/Meghan/Megan’s

I know an adult Megan in her 40s. I’m an older X named Dawn. I was one of five in my high school class. I only know of one other as an adult in my life. Via FB I know that the Dawns from my HS are still around, just not in DC.

I have a cousin who is the oldest of the Millennials (1980) named Deborah. She goes by Debby.
