This. How is a message board supposed to help?

Fellow rack owner here. No turtlenecks (including mocks), no crewnecks, or anything else that creates a vast expanse of solid chest.

V-necks, wrap dresses, criss-cross tops, peplum jackets, princess seams and knits are your friends. Small square scarves tied at the neck and 16-18” necklaces are OK, but be careful of long scarves or pendant necklaces.

I love Christina Hendricks's style and in Mad Men. She has strong powerful walk, lol!

OP here- thanks again for so many suggestions! The V neck and simplicity suggestions are spot on.
I'm giving up any tips/dresses that aren't flattering; turtleneck, boat neck and crew neck have to go.
I definitely feel best in a modest v neck.
I also ordered a wrap dress - I'll be trying those silhouettes.

Today I wore a Modern Citizen V neck top and capris and felt great.

Also regarding the breast reduction - I'm going to broach the subject with my doctor soon.

Thanks all for helping me with my wardrobe refresh and confidence boosting!

OP here: I was just thinking about calling my insurance to look into this! Especially after weight loss... Since I've heard sometimes they expect some before approving it. That's on my checklist to investigate!

NP here. My insurance covered it. I was a 36H. Life changing!

For now, though. V necks are right (not too low). I usually wore dark colors and simple. I wore a lot of sweaters and blazers to cover/distract (that is where you can use color).

NP. Hush your mouth with that blasphemy!

What blasphemy? That a breast reduction was life changing and my insurance covered it? Sorry. True for me. That v necks and simple tips work? Also true for me.

This bra fitting is one of many changes, all with a ripple effect: less and healthier eating, weight loss, teeth improvements, hair growing out, (hopefully) job stability... The next thing on my list is to meet with a stylist and I have a virtual call next week. The new bras are what pushed me over the edge to realize I need not only different sizes, but most likely different styles and brands of clothing.
I like the suggestion of trying knits. Thankful for the other poster with narrow shoulders. Confirmed my thoughts - will likely give away whatever blouses I have left that I keep thinking I'll wear some day/when I lose more weight. I already avoid embellishments, busy patterns and logos/words.

I'm 5'9". I'm almost into Tall fits but when I've tried, especially with jeans, I end up needing hemming or they're strangely too big elsewhere even if the regular size isn't too big. I do find that a lot of shirts/knits are too short on me- of course the bust is a factor but maybe I have a longish torso too.

I am curious about necklines - I am thinking of stepping away from crew neck and boat neck. Seems like V-neck (not too low of course) may flatter me most.

I knew a woman with a large bust. She only wore V-neck tops. I remember she told me a stylist told her to wear this style.

Regarding Tall sizes - I’m 5’8” size 14 and like OP I find that sometimes regular sizes are a bit short, but then I swim in Tall sizes. It’s bc they change the straddle (I don’t know what is it called - the length where the zipper is) and I’m not tall enough/proportional enough to need that. I recently ordered a shorter dress in a Tall size and realized also the neck opening was longer, which was too long and open for me. I’m shortwaisted and long legged. Anyway, someone told me their jeans in Tall are just longer inseam, no change to the other proportions - I’m quite sure it was Madewell. That was several years ago and I may be mis-remembering, but there may be other brands like this.
I think you have gotten good advice - v-neck maybe scoop neck. And realized you may need to try different brands. I really feel like Uniqlo is made for the Asian frame and their proportions and styles. My husband loves and will only wear Uniqlo, but Caucasian busty size 14 me - not attractive especially since a lot of their casual styles are very cropped and boxy these last few years.

I second this. I also find that dresses are better than separates for work clothing. I love button downs, but they don't always love me.
