Yes, we know. You're in your echochamber and it's end-of-the-world time. |
| Perhaps the dems can work on nominating candidates who aren't unacceptable to a large swath of the population. That way, you would have a chance at winning elections and wouldn't have to start threads like this preemptively rationalizing your bigly defeats. |
| I bet it’ll be ok |
What are you even talking about? No one said anything about not voting. We're talking about whether it'll be a free and fair election. Keep up. |
Perhaps you have not paid attention to the special elections in 2025. |
As it is, we have a tyranny of the minority and the power in the military and paramilitary is consolidating. Maybe the country is too big for an Orban/Erdogan style throttling, but unless people start going on general strikes and whatnot, it won't matter. |
Voting electronically gives you, the voter, a receipt, and provides paper tabulation within the voting machine, that is not connected to the internet, at least, not the Dominion ones. Those paper receipts are then tabulated at the precincts, with total vote counts, votes for each candidate recorded with observers from both sides. The numbers reported by the precincts are then called in to the election office along with all the precincts. So no, voting on paper doesn't matter. Now, the Deibold machines ARE connected to the internet. Those are the machines used in most of the southern states, Ohio and a few purple states. No one talks about those because... |
Tank the economy, buy nothing. Screw you MAGA. |
| Absolutely no way will there be fair elections. Look what the Kirkists have done in the past week. |
Yep. Or backed by someone with power + money. There are never free elections. That's the most naive and foolish thing that people can believe. This country is a capitalist society and made up of rich and poor. Make no mistake - human nature is never about freedom - we are animals just like any other kind and there is a hierarchy. The rich are at the top. Nothing gets done without those who control these things impacting. Whether you see the influence or not, whether it's a select group or only 1-2, money gets things done - yes - even in the land of the brave and free. The only difference is its invisible influence but impactful influence all the same. |

Midterms are going to be fine, with the possible exception of any Senate upsets in places like Texas or North Carolina. If those go D then I would expect the GOP to go ballistic and do whatever they can to invalidate Democratic wins.
2028 Presidential is a crapshoot, IMO. If Dems take House and Senate I expect voter suppression measures to kick into overdrive in red states. I think there is a high likelihood Republicans will object to the electoral college votes of certain states in order to prevent the election of a Democratic President. I also think red states may overrule the will of their voters and have their electors cast votes for the Republican candidate. I also know that a lot of people call the above insane or think I am hysterical. I hope both turn out to be true. |
You use every chance you get, including this thread, to slam Democrat supporters for not being pure enough by calling them MAGA. By doing this, you suppress Democrat voter turnout. So, yes, let’s continue with the discussion without your blatant hatred of fellow democrats. |
Sure, no neighbors, in fact, no one I know has ever been “loaded into trucks.” Kids get on the school bus though. You should definitely say this at dinner with friends and family. |
Wasn't someone in his circle working on *buying* voting machines ? |
|
Yes.
Maybe I'm stupid. |
