Trump to fire US attorney for not charging Letitia James

Anonymous
If she is indicted, I would call this former US Attorney as defense witness #1 and Trump as #2. He just unintentionally ruined the case.

The fact that no GOP member thinks anything is wrong with this is dumbfounding. This was a USA who he nominated. He’s now replacing her was a line prosecutor at some rural prosecutors office. Only the best.

Trump has a replacement in mind already—one of his former personal lawyers who is currently working on cleansing the Smithsonian of unpatriotic content. And she’s a looker, too!

Now that the lackey is in place at EDVA, the indictment on James Comey has been brought.

Ironic since Trump would not have been president without Comey's help in October 2016.

Here's what the PP is referring to.

In this particular case in Trump's Retribution Tour, I don't feel sorry for the victim of the retribution. Comey has always been self-righteous and has never acknowledged putting his thumb on the scale in the Clinton-Trump election.

He's more honest than you, at least, PP. He didn't "put his thumb" on the election. Or at least not the way that you are implying. He only underestimated the stupidity of the American voters.

James Comey did indeed put his thumb on the scale in the 2016 Clinton-Trump election by sending a letter to Congress on October 28, 2016—11 days before Election Day—reopening the investigation into Clinton's emails, which polls showed hurt her lead in key states like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Analyses, including from FiveThirtyEight and studies in Social Science Quarterly, indicate this shifted her popular vote odds by about 4 points and likely cost her the Electoral College victory, though Comey defended it as non-partisan.

DP...there was no new information that warranted re-opening the investigation. So all he did was bring "but her emails" to the forefront in the waning days of the election when Hillary's campaign had no room to counteract it. October surprise dirty trick on steroids.

Comey will get a little taste of the lawfare he engaged in himself. Whether or not the feds have a case (questionable since they are inept), he will have to spend money and time fighting the charges.

To be fair, he a) notified Congress, and then Congressman Jason Chaffetz leaked it; and b) he notified Congress not only because it was required by law but also because Trump-friendly FBI agents in the New York field office were going to leak it if he didn’t.

There's no fairness on this forum, they think Comey is a baddie and lying when he said he was honest. SMH

Nope. I actually do think Comey was being his version of “honest”. I think the timing of his concerns was politically convenient. And I think prioritizing his misgivings despite the timing was incredibly arrogant. I hope the way that all of this is playing out soothes what’s left of his conscience.

He totally put his thumb on the scales.

He gave his personal opinion when he announced the findings of the investigation. He said she was careless (when he originally wrote his statement he said reckless but crossed it out because it was a legal term) he knew exactly what he was doing.

Then when nunes leaked comeys letter days before the election in 2016 reminded everyone of Clinton’s carelessness and implied criminality.

There is no indictment. There are rumors of an indictment, nothing more. The pretty l'il lady lawyer will have to "find" evidence and present it to a grand jury, which will undoubtedly decline to indict Comey.
