now that vaccines are nuked in US, what can I catch from unvaxxed kids?

Parents routinely take kids in for doctors appointments. Separating those two shots is not some unbearable burden.

Not sure what was going on with you, but my kids only saw their pediatrician once a year unless they were acutely sick. And particularly since the MMR and varicella vaccines are live attenuated, they're not going to give those during a sick visit.

Yearly visits don't start until 3. Until then it's every few weeks or months.

It's healthier for the children. They can find the time. Why are you so afraid of contracting disease from spaced out vaccinations of American children, but the millions of completely unvaccinated who enter the US every year? What's the difference?

I thought the recommendations were more along the lines of not giving combo shots to infants and delaying some. It’s a change but it doesn’t appear too dramatic. Some of my friends already have done this with an alternative schedule friendly pediatrician.

You are correct. It’s absurd to think this is the second coming of the plague (which, by the way, is easily treatable with ABX now, even if it was.)

Yes, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. I agree the hysteria is warranted there. In this case, the recent changes (so far) seem minor.

I recall a distinct lack of people who had called others or as over-,reacting coming back and admiring they were wrong. Will you?

They just got rid of the scientists on the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and replaced them with vocal anti-vaxxers. The head of the CDC is out, and she's testifying to Congress about the pressure she faced about vaccines. What do you think is really going to happen -- stopping here?

Have you ever treated plague? I have. I'm a doctor in the Southwest. I wouldn't be so blase about it.

It's hard to spot, and it's a nasty illness. The drugs work, but sepsis is common.

Lots of 5th graders caught it last year as their initial shots had worn off and got it before their 11 year old shots. My child was one of them.
