You will catch it if you are not fully vaccinated. Get it checked and stop worrying about other others. |
It's less likely to be fatal if you've been fully immunized at some point, but the immunity wanes over time. It's worth checking if you have gotten the Td or Tdap booster recently. The "d" is for diphtheria.
This wasn't really an issue with essentially universal vaccination. This is still a live illness, though -- it's still active in other parts of the world, such as sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Indonesia. It's not like smallpox, which we eradicated. |
I beg your pardon, but that should read "if you are not fully vaccinated AND APPROPRIATELY BOOSTED." Thanks. |
"Oh yeah, you guys, it's not at all like they are going to lose doctors and have to close hospitals in red states because of punting women's health care back into the Dark Ages! That's crazy talk!" |
Well, don't forget the ACIP already recommended giving the MMR and varicella vaccines separately over giving the combined MMRV vaccine. I don't think a change was necessary, but it isn't as crazy as some are implying. Some sources made it sound like the ACIP removed the recommendation for the vaccines entirely. |
Once again, Project 2025 specifically criticized the use of vaccines developed using fetal cell lines, regardless of how they are now manufactured. Or are we still pretending that Project 2025 wasn't the declared GOP playbook? |
