What is the easiest T25/30 private to get into?

Notre Dame had a 6% RD admit rate this year. 22,484 applications and 1431 admitted (and this includes kids deferred from REA so the rate for those applying RD is even lower). Consider that their class is 80% Catholic then this is 286 spots for non Catholics RD.... probably a <2% admission rate RD if that if you're not a practicing Catholic.

I have no affiliation to the university but just dug around for these numbers).

Notre Dame’s test scores are lower than what you would think.

Plus their alumni network might even be the best of any college in the country…

1460-1540 SAT range for ND is lower than every other T25 private. Its the same as USC.

Maybe. But that doesn't mean it's a more likely admit for OP's kid.

There are definitely feeder schools. DS's school sends a disproportionate number of students there.

But do you have to be Catholic to benefit?

You have to go to Notre Dame to benefit. Period.

Nearly half of this list is NOT even "Top 30-ish" except maybe NYU, WashU, CMU and Georgetown. (BC/Tufts/Emory are definitely not, they are more "Top 50-ish").

Look at Holy Cross and Colgate. Reference Bucknell, Villanova, BC thread. Holy Cross always had more prestige and better outcomes than BC. BC is ranked 38th yikes.

OP is asking about PRIVATE.
If public included, UVA in-state.

Public isn’t included because they are easier admits and none should be top 20 anyhow.

You obviously have not attended a top public, because if you had you’d know they pack a punch equal or greater than some T25 privates.

For information on this topic, this site provides Student Selectivity Ranks for colleges and universities nationally:

Note, however, that the analysis may be weakened by possible data entry errors in the cases of one or more schools.

Duke received 60,000 applications for a class of 1700 makes ND look like a SEC school. Agree with PP, want a hidden gem take a look at Holy Cross in Massachusetts.

Duke admitted 2802 this year to get that class of 1700. Plus then they added 50 extra kids in July.

True.

Still not bad out of 4,000 colleges. 🙂
