+1 This is how we have done it Anything mom and dad would usually pay for goes on the card. Debit card is used for "fun money". One kid is much better about those parameters than the other. |

You go to your bank with the kid and set them up with an account. It is tied to your account and you can transfer money into it easily. You get them a debit card and they put that on their apply pay and use it to make purchases. When they make money they can deposit it there (direct deposit usually) or they can transfer money in from their Venmo.
This allows them to live in the modern world instead of trying to carry cash, but they are limited by the amount of money in their account. |
