Matthew McConaughey snuck his son into audition for new movie by hiding famous last name

I also love when he says that his son asked for the role 5 times causing Matthew to think to himself, "Alright, now he's working for it." Damn, that's quite a definition of "work."

Sorry, I don’t believe this story. Matthew got his kid in, but his kid used a different last name.

Isn’t it known that his son’s name is Levi, not a common name

McConaughey films himself reading lines with his son.
He sends the video to the casting director and requests it gets sent to the director.
Then he says “but take my last name off.”

Boomer people magazine celebrity culture really puts weird Gen Z influencer culture in perspective.

If this is true, I'm suffering second hand embarrassment for the McConaugheys.
Then to have their PR run with the story that Levi got the job on his own . . . . ☠️

I barely follow Hollywood and their offspring, but even I could immediately identify "Levi".

A - so does Matthew read lines with everyone auditioning? No

B - the tape never would have gotten to the director without Matthew making it happen.

C - of ourselves the director knew it was his son. Matthew has stated the agreement with his wife for marriage is the family would on location with him for all movies. They all knew it was his kid.

D - never thought Matthew was a good actor and never ever was good looking. Looks worse as he gets older. And get rid of the wisp of hair you call a beard.

I have no issue with Nepo babies. As long as they can act- who cares?

I don’t care about actor nepo babies particularly. However, I’m concerned about you, op, and the fact that you have reached adulthood without the ability to detect publicist planted drivel.

"Alright Alright Alright"

"Be a lot cooler if he had though."

"Great thing about high school girls is as I get older, they stay the same age."

If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. You don't think they knew the kid?

+1,000 not to mention the rehearsal and video, and the strings Matthew pulled to get the video to the casting agent for advice and then directly to the director. He had an in already.

+1 Someone would have made a call. But yes, Matthew can tell that story about the last name so no one calls his kid a nepo baby.

Plus that kid has gone to tons of events where he's been photographed with his dad. Anyone who knows how to use digital identification software could ID him in a minute as Matthew's kid.

The dirty secret: anyone can "act" with enough opportunities and practice. That's why relationships are so important in Hollywood.

This is hyperbole. He told the casting director allegedly to remove the name but you know the main director already knew Levi. And, the casting director could have easily spoken his last name even if it was left blank. The article states that his mother Kay plays Matthew’s mom. And Levi will play the son. Come on, people.
