Let’s see: Epstein Our President is a rapist National Guard is being deployed across the nation. Florida isn’t vaccinating. Federal workforce gutted with outcomes mentioned per the PP Kids are being shot in schools again Russia and China cozying up. I could go on and on. I think I speak for many when I say that Gaza is the least of my worries. |
Gaza is actually quite uninteresting, the story doesn't change. Hamas keeps holding hostages, and Israel keeps trying to get them back while also working to prevent the possibility of future Hamas-like activity. It'll be news when the Palestinians are relocated to Somaliland or Sudan, and the hostages are released. After that, it'll all be about putting Gaza to some socially productive use for a change. |
Israel has been bombings Gaza for almost 2 years. I don't think the Gaza City invasion happened yet. https://apnews.com/article/gaza-city-offensive-evacuation-israel-hamas-war-f8a720a4a359180aecf306f383dbc90d |
| We have big domestic problems. News is covering news that affect most Americans. Israel’s and Palestine’s centuries long back and forth doesn’t matter to most Americans. |
Not centuries. Israel didn’t exist before 1948. |
The story was over on Oct 8. It was obvious that Oct 7 was a terminal miscalculation by the Palestinians, and entirely predictable that nothing short of their complete and definitive neutralization would be an outcome sufficient to ensure future regional security and stability. Only relative Israeli restraint has kept the conflict going this long as it is; the real story is how Hamas has persisted in dragging things out for as long as possible, no matter the consequences, before their inevitable obliteration. |
Hamas did not start this. The killing of Palestinians by Israelis has been going on since the creation of Israel in 1948. |
No we don't agree. Anyway you just want us to watch so we can finally, in your mind, come to our senses and hate Israel and rise up against it. |
DP It’s funny how you put a finger at others for having an agenda while you inadvertently reveal your own. |
| You’ll start hearing about it if hostages or IDF die the same way you only heard about this area of the world again after 10/7 |
No...I didn't reveal an agenda of mine (I don't have one), I revealed yours...identifying propaganda doesn't mean I have propaganda of my own. In the liberal arts tradition, well-read critical thinkers do not have to and do not usually take a "side" in these sort of matters. We watch for patterns and rhetoric. |
The point is there is nothing else to say. We all have seen the protests day in and day out. We have seen post after posts on message boards saying the same thing over and over. Yelling, shouting, screaming, repeating the same phrases and talking points ad infinitum will not accomplish anything--these tactics do not obliderate freedom of thought and action, so no need to be surprised that Americans are not falling in line. They are choosing to do and think what they want. |
Noted. We have heard this thousands of times over the past two years. We heard you the first time. We have decided how to process this statement. No need to tell us again. |
??? I mean they are starving and dying and you expect them to be recording it with drones? |
| Meanwhile “Hamas says it is ready to accept a comprehensive Gaza ceasefire but Israel continues its offensive to seize Gaza City.” I mean at this point the Palestinians willbe lucky if they end up in Africa. But Israel and Jews unfortunately will be a lot less safe in the world. Killing, maiming, and pushing out people is not the way to win hearts and minds. Tragic. Horrible. Trauma impact is real. |
