Well I am a middle school teacher in DC and many kids are electing to wear masks on their own when they are not feeling 100 or when a classmate seems to be feeling not that well. Some actually ask me for masks, but I tell them we don't get them like we did when we just came back off of regular. However, they can go ask the nurse.

This is the first year my 8th grader has EVER wanted to wear a mask (for a very mild cold that wasn’t even a cold). Is it a trend?

There is no evidence that wearing a surgical mask does anything, and wearing a N95 all day is inhumane.

This is OP. My kids are wearing masks to school until they test negative.

Troll.

Why did you test at all? Fever = stay homes no fever = operate as usual. That simple.

No, there's no way you're a parent.
