The only gold in this age is from the waning light of America's best years

No 1 person has that much power in our government no matter what. Rather, it's been weakened for some time and it's ripe for someone like Trump to come in and change the culture.

When all we did was graduate lawyers v engineers that's when we got into trouble. 1990s is prob when it started to be about Presidents having law degrees and that's when the beginning of the end started.

When lawyers run the country v people who build and make things, it's a bad omen for all.

This sent me down an interesting rabbit hole of previous occupations of POTUSes:

https://potus.com/presidential-facts/occupations/

27 presidents were lawyers. 14 former military. I don’t think there was ever a golden age of maker/builder presidents. But it would be an interesting departure from tradition.

This information is wrong regarding the military. It only includes soldiers, and exclude all others. Nixon, Kennedy, Carter, Ford, Johnson, and H. W. Bush were excluded because they were Navy. George W. was a National Guard, but excluded in the military count. Interesting, No POTUS have served in the Air Force.

I’m staying hopeful and imagining the next President broadcasting live, for the entire country to watch right after the inauguration, the removal of all that gross gold bling, piece by piece, from the Oval Office. 😎

Half that stuff is Home Depot garbage spray painted gold. It might take a day to fix.

Of course, some of it will take longer, but maybe we should put ropes around it and leave it as a lesson.

Presidents have been lawyers forever. This current President is the only one who came into office with zero experience in government or in the military. That is the problem.

+1. So tiresome.

Yes America is changing my drastically. It will be a land for whites who are poorly educated and blindly follow the leaders who will make their lives living hell.

Idk how long it will take but the future is not looking good.

Agree- leaders and congress should have way more practical STEM type folks who are good at problem solving, working with numbers, and getting stuff done efficiently. The lawyers are just talking circles and manipulating to serve their own interests.

Pretty much how I feel as well.

Nothing stopping you from leaving. If things are as bad as you people insist they are, then you must be absolutely insane to stay here. And then in that case, you ARE insane, and not the least bit credible.

Some of us believe in a liberal democracy that helps people. Because we have different values doesn’t mean we have to leave. Our children have never known a functioning democracy, I’d like to fight for them to have one, right here.
