Where are DC’s elected leaders?

Surprise, DC doesn't have leaders. If we did, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Stop blaming other people for the mess Donald trump made.

Eleanor Holmes Norton, our sole congressional delegate, is 88 years old and suffering from dementia. We deserve better local leaders.

Useless? In what ways? What would you have them do? “Useless” really vague and — um — useless as a criticism without actual examples and specific recommendations.

There are federal officers who refuse to identify themselves who are beating people up in the streets.

Or, rather, “federal officers”. Since they refuse to identify themselves and are often wearing clothing and accessories that can be easily purchased by civilians, we really don’t know if they’re actually federal officers — or not.

It should be very clear to anyone paying attention that we have several on the city council who are fine both with condescending preaching at us about what policies we are supposed to agree are best when they have the upper hand and with completely disappearing now. Obviously they are just blow hard politicians who care more about political survival than the principles they claim to espouse.

AG Brian Schwalb is working away, He already stopped Bondi from replacing the Police Chief. But there's only so much he can do in his role.

+1 Approximately half the country's voters do not want the progressive policies that Washington liberals promote. Since DC is the location of the core of our federal govt, the status quo will remain.

So they’re happy at the huge expense of sending troops and police into a city where they don’t live??

Yes, ma'am, they do. It's our country's capital and a federal district. It "belongs" to all of us.

When Americans think of Washington DC, they think of the area. They want it to be safe for anyone who visits, lives, or works there.

+1 Safety for visitors and their families who don't know the area should be a priority.

The parts of the city that tourists visit are already, by and large, quite safe for visitors and have been for many years.

DC is such a conformist city that it's absolutely going to be the first blue city to become MAGA. Maybe not Jethro MAGA but certainly Stephen Miller MAGA.
